Dr. Brent McDougal has served as Senior Pastor of Cliff Temple Baptist Church since 2010. A graduate of Emory University (BA in Political Science and Religion), Samford University (Masters of Divinity) and the University of Alabama (PhD, Political Science), Brent has served in numerous ministry positions over the last 20 years. Brent is married to Jennifer, a neo-natal intensive care nurse at Methodist Hospital. He also has two children, Christopher (a recent Emory University graduate) and Emily (who begins her freshman year at the University of Southern California next week).

Recent community involvement includes serving on the Sammons Cancer Center of Baylor Medical Center Advisory Board and the Ethics Advisory Commission for the City of Dallas. Dr. McDougal has had two great interests throughout his life: faith and politics. He is the author of Faith, Hope & Politics: Inspiring a New Generation to Community-Changing Political Engagement. In a political climate where many people feel pessimistic or powerless, Faith, Hope & Politics is a call to a new generation of leaders to not give up on the public square.
