Judy Moore and Gil Potts, The American Songbook (Live Music Event)

Pianist and composer, Judy Moore, was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio.  She began piano lessons at four--and was soloist with the Cincinnati Symphony by the age of 16.  Judy began composing music and mastering the pipe organ as a teenager and her summers were spent, entertaining on excursion boats on the Ohio River.  Her love for Hollywood musicals, Broadway and Big Bands, led her ultimately to choose Jazz over Classical music as her vocation.  Her unique keyboard artistry brought an appearance on the Lawrence Welk Television Show at age 17--and she continues today, to enjoy sharing a wide repertoire of music for audiences throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area. 

Her songs are over 800 in number and include tributes to Bob Hope, Gene Kelly and other celebrities.  Also included, are ballads, country-western, rhythm and blues, children’s shows, Christian and Patriotic anthems.  Her song, Stand Up! You’re an American! was sung at the White House--in churches and schools across the country--and featured at the Meyerson Symphony Hall. 

As a leading society pianist, Judy entertains in the finest homes in Dallas--and regularly leads a Duo with Bassist, Gil Pitts.  Her drummer, Louis Benavidez, joins them as a Trio, at the Dallas Petroleum Club and Brook Hollow Golf Club.

Judy is married to Jack Bird who have five children and are members of the First Baptist Church of Dallas.
