In his professional life, Dr. Michael Marcades is a musician with degrees in trumpet performance and choral conducting and additional studies in art, philosophy and theater. He has been involved in choral/instrumental conducting and performance for over three decades.  During that time he has served on School of Music faculties at Texas Tech University, Columbus State University in Georgia, and Southern Union State Community College in Alabama.

Prior to and during his collegiate teaching career, he served as Director of Music Ministries in Methodist, Baptist and Episcopal churches throughout Texas, South Carolina, Kentucky, Georgia and Alabama.  His church and college choirs have performed in Switzerland and New York’s Carnegie Hall.

In his “other life” as a published author, Dr. Marcades has been featured at JFK assassination conferences, book signings, and national radio programs regarding his recent publication entitled ROSE CHERAMI:  Gathering Fallen Petals.  The book – a product of over 30 years of research and 10 years of writing – is the documented biography of his mother, Melba Christine Youngblood Marcades, known worldwide as Rose Cherami; the woman who warned authorities in advance of the Kennedy assassination.  Cherami’s place in assassination history is of such importance that her character was included in Oliver Stone’s landmark film JFK and THE AMERICAN TRAP, a Canadian-produced feature film.

Michael is married to Kelly Casey Marcades, a vocal music professional and educator.  They currently reside in Georgetown, Texas with their three wonderful dogs.
